o The annual GardenWalk Cleveland Heights typically was held the third weekend in July.
o The list of gardens was typically available as a downloadable PDF a month in advance, and the team provided a link to a Google Maps app. The list of gardens was also typically included as an insert in an edition of the Heights Observer, the month of the walk.
o Gardeners received a sign to place on the tree lawn indicating that their garden was on the walk. Many thanks to our sponsors for helping us with printing costs. Note that we still have those signs and will hand them off to any team wanting to take on this project.
Gardeners are asked to keep their garden “open” on Saturday and Sunday of the walk weekend, from Noon to 5 pm.
o Essentially, this means that neighbors will be walking by to admire.
o If you are showing your front yard, there’s not much to do.
o If it’s your backyard, you’ll have visitors walking to the back of your home.
We prefer that gardeners be present to greet visitors and answer questions but understand if that is not possible.
Visitors: Please note that a few gardens are noted as "Front Only," (on the pdf list) meaning only the front yard is available for viewing.
Gardeners: This is an opportunity to showcase your hard work, the beauty of our neighborhoods, and to build community.
Please note that GardenWalk has always welcomed gardeners and gardens of all sizes and descriptions. Visitors are always excited to see what can be done in small yards as well as the spectacle of large landscaping projects.
The team also counts on volunteers to help with garden recruitment, event promotion, and event logistics.
